Is it Safe to Buy Airsoft Guns Online?

I have literally purchased dozens, if not HUNDREDS of airsoft guns online. From electric AEG airsoft guns, to spring powered airsoft sniper rifles, to gas powered airsoft pistols, I have pretty much bought it all. And every single gun that I purchased was bought online, mainly from just a small handful of airsoft websites. So what is the short answer to those who are wondering if it is a good idea to buy airsoft rifles on the internet? The short answer is that the internet is an AWESOME place, if not the BEST place to buy airsoft guns!

However, much like anything that you buy online, you will want to use at least a little bit of common sense, and perhaps do a bit of research as well. This is because unfortunately some airsoft websites do not include very detailed (or sometimes even inaccurate) descriptions of their airsoft guns. Sometimes you may even find that the picture that they have in their product description doesn’t even match the actual gun that they have listed (it is pretty much common practice to just use a generic looking product picture for many similar airsoft guns).

Another thing to watch out for when looking to buy an airsoft gun online, is an inaccurate velocity rating, especially with the airsoft sniper rifles. Many distributors don’t seem to have EXACT specifications for the FPS that some of their airsoft guns shoot, so they basically just rate it within about 50 FPS or so of what the gun atually shoots.

So how do you research these sort of things? The best way that I have found is too good a google search and see what info you can dig up. But don’t trust just one source of information; check multiple websites and see if all of the information that you find ends up giving you the same stats and specifications etc. Also, another great trick that I learned is to do a search on youtube for a specific gun that you are interested in. More often than not you can find a review of the airsoft gun in question, and these reviews are usually very detailed, and tell you the FPS rating of the gun, among MANY other things as well.
